Home remedy for constipationThere is a lot of controversy whether to use medication or home remedies for constipation. According to many health experts, this annoying health condition can be prevented by choosing a healthy lifestyle when it comes to: diets, exercises, habits…etc. While many medications are reported to have many side effects, home remedies are still always the better option for treating such a condition.
If you happen to have constipation, you should see your doctor first, because it may be a sign for another condition. If you make sure that it is constipation with no other health issues, you should consider trying a home remedy for constipation. These remedies could be very simple yet very effective. Some of those are: 1- Water: because constipation is primarily caused by not drinking enough liquids. Drinking 6 to 8 glasses of water will not only make you get rid of your constipation but of a lot of other conditions. Drinking water will make your digestive system dissolve nutrients and eliminate waste more efficiently. 2- Grain products: this is very beneficial to your health, as grains have fibers which are considered the best treatment for constipation. Eating grain products like: cereals, starchy vegetables (corn, potatoes), green peas…etc will give you enough fibers which will help your bowel movements by better digesting your food. You should eat 20 to 35 grams of fibers every day and you will find such an information in your food boxes. 3- Fruits and vegetables: it is preferable that you eat whole fruits and vegetables over juices as these last ones contain less fiber percentage than whole. You should opt for: apples, orange, peaches, peas and especially spinach because it is considered the best food for the entire digestive tract. A spinach juice will magically (scientifically!) cure any constipation within days even if it’s very aggravated. 4- Vegetable oil: it can be very helpful to your constipation as it is able to lubricate your intestinal tracts. You can take 2 to 3 tablespoons whenever you feel constipated until the problem is gone. Another good advice is to mix oil with your fiber rich food, as this will make your constipation go in no time. 5- Exercise: this is one of the most useful home remedies for constipation, because you don’t need to go to the gym if you don’t want to. Exercising home will make your abdominal muscles more powerful and makes you bowel movements more regular. Sometimes you need to consider jogging in the fresh air as this has many other health benefits. There are probably hundreds of home remedies for constipation out there, what you need is to concentrate on one or 2 of these and keep consistently trying them until the problem is gone.
